March's book competition

At the beginning of March my reading class was doing a competition for how many books you could read in the month. My teacher said if you matched or beat how many she read she would have a special accomplishment award thingy. My teacher set her goal to 10 books and I set mine to 11 books. A few weeks later she set her goal to 7.
These are the books I've read so far:

Merlin's Mirror which is about Merlin as a kid.

Brian's Hunt, is the sequel to Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.

The search for Shadow Man is about a mysterious project that a student does,

and finally Skeleton Man, which is about  a girl who's parents die unexpectedly and her uncle brings her to his scary home.

I am now reading The River by Gary Paulsen and I am about 90% through it.
I hope I can reach my goal!

Venus Fly Trap

My awesome sister's got a Venus Fly Trap for me for Valentine's Day. My mom and dad called and ordered it from The Garden Center but they said that the plants come in on Tuesdays but sometimes they wouldn't get them for weeks, even months. We waited for a week and I did some research about how to take care for it.

Here is what I learned when I did my research. I learned that they only need to be feed two flies each year but they can be feed more and the flies have to be alive. They can't be teased because each trap can only close 5 or 6 times before it dies. They can't have tap water and they prefer high places but doesn't need to be there.
We waited for another week.

On the end of the week we decided that we should just order it online and we did . A few days later it arrived, It was a bit crushed, but my mom fixed it. I put it the kitchen because the kitchen is the brightest room in the house and they like lots of sunlight.

I put cup out while it was raining to get some rain water to spray on it because that's the best way to do it.
I know that I'll have lots of fun helping it grow.

Bud Not Buddy

As my next book I'm going to do Bud not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis. It is a Newbery Medal book and its based on the Great Depression. The main character is Bud Caldwell who is an orphan who sets out to find his father after he is sent to a temporary foster home. I think this is a great historical fiction book that has no things I don't like about it.
In conclusion I think this was a ten on a scale from 1- 10 or 41/2 because its not the best book but its really great.
